You remember those days when it was all described as sweet? …but why has it all turned sour in our era now?
On the flipside, until now, it was DESPISED UPON, DESPICABLE…Simply, sour but it has all turned sweet all in the name of……. Find out???…..
So let us first do…

You remember,
Miss-Virginity (Do we still have them?…Are they in the system?)
Grandpa-Respect for the elderly.( Ooh that thing-‘Kolo’simply means belongs to the past)
Madam -Parents involvement in marriage (Pleaaaase, LET ME FIND MY LOVE!)
The Mr. &Mrs. Sincerity in relationship & unto marriage. (Who does that now?)
The Noble and loving husband to the helpmate &submissive wife…Welllllll & a host of many others.
Now, let me let you in on …
FROM SOUR TO SWEET
Today’s
Redefined sex before marriage. (Or is it just normal?)
The seductive indecent dressing hidden in modernity. (The word simply tells & convicts you to ask yourself for you know whether it is modest or not.)
Then, the Shocker-Women blatantly chasing men……Well, not the indirect way women do it…(In Isaiah 4.1-he says ‘In that day, seven women will take hold of one man and say we will eat our food and provide our own clothes only let us be called by your name…),
Another Big shocker- Homosexuality_(Unequivocally,Genesis lays it bare yet we seem to be confused…. In Gen. 1:9, God says ‘Male and female i created them’…End of matter!…Case closed!!!…..Or you want to try a rather naked answer in Gen. 19.)
Then, since on the scriptural spree, this self-explanatory one, Isaiah 5:21-23- ‘woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and clever in their own sight. Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing it, who acquit the guilty for a bribe…
Dearly loved, hitherto, all these and more were DESPISED UPON. What now?..they’ve all been massaged, have crept into the society and now accepted or (charitably) being accepted even in the church.
Civilization, Rights and Modernity are key among the explicit and implicit reasons given. Interesting!!!
This is simply against the honourable & godly things pointed out in from SWEET to SOUR and even more. Why can’t we return to those roots?
How then???… The simple principle of reciprocity or the swap element for the two Ss (Sweet and Sour).
Let us then swap those that used to be SWEET but now SOUR back to SWEET and those that were SOUR but now SWEET back to SOUR. As simple as that!…’Anaa me boa?..
Heyy, i know it is not that simple considering the times. However,in all these,ask yourself :
How did we get here?… It’s just because we stood,watched & allowed ourselves. We spoke silently, copied blindly & mastered foolishly.
These and many more have become our bane.(You can choose not to admit it).
The change that we need starts wth our mindsets and for us Christians, it is all spelt out in Romans 12:1-2- to purpose in our minds and hearts to do this and be the change agent for all to see. That is all it takes and all the strength, grace and other ways to do it will just follow.
To you, who is outside the salvation domain (an unbeliever), prayerfully turn to Romans 10:9, for Jesus is all you need to make it.
I must say as always the solutions&ways of our Lord may look way too simple but it’s all you need.
Okayyy, take this- Know that in all these there is one person who enables you to do it just right_GOD & he is LOVE…The Agape LOVE of God.
1 John 4:8- Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Your motives, ideals, passion, action , purpose and your life- the sum total should be hinged on HIM.
Simply, He should be the basis for your life & on this Valentine season.
So, Isaiah 5:20 aptly & beautifully rounds it up with the title –
‘WOE TO THOSE WHO PUT SOUR FOR SWEET AND SWEET FOR SOUR.’
